Welcome to Yoga Mat.
My name is Erika Wolfe, ERYT200 Yoga Teacher and co-owner of Yoga Mat. My yoga journey fell into my life when I needed it most and didn’t know it. A last minute invite to a class in Sept. 2012, was all it took for me to fall in love with my mat.

I didn’t understand how an hour of a yoga practice could quiet my “monkeymind,” calm my Self, and make me feel so good. Yoga became my new life. Stress melted away. Finding confidence, strength, belief in my Self, and becoming the change I needed. Curiosity and a thirst for knowledge led me further on my journey of Self and to find the “magic” behind Yoga.

My definition of this magic is: Able to practice at a studio that is filled with love, kindness and open hearts. Learning how my practice is reflected in my life. Becoming aware of all aspects of Yoga; that it’s not just about the asanas. It’s the journey of finding yourself in Self-awareness. Taking the time to take care of you. Letting go of challenges, obstacles, worries, ego and so much more, and just BE in the present moment. Using your breath to move thru asanas, becoming stronger in mind and spirit, the body will follow. Yoga is the practice of mind body connection, always learning and growing.

  • Hot Fusion
  • Sweat, breathe, go with the flow! This fun, flowing class combines postures and sequences from various styles of yoga. With a dynamic flowing sequence of yoga postures linking breath and movement, you’ll cultivate awareness while building core strength and flexibility. Learn ujjayi pranayama breath work. It can get nice and toasty to ensure your muscles are warmed up and ready to stretch. You WILL sweat. This class will offer many incredible benefits including; increased endurance, stamina, strength, and flexibility. The heat aids in warming the body and increasing detoxification through sweat. This class is open to all levels of practitioner. We encourage anyone to try. Keep in mind you might want to take it easy your first several classes as you get used to the heat.

  • Morning Yogi
  • Yoga practiced in the morning can set you up for your day; can give you clarity before life gets in the way. Don't make decisions based on stress, clear the path in front of you with a mind calming and body opening yoga practice. We will attempt to take you within your body, becoming aware of what is going on inside, setting an ear to the door, so to speak. We learn how to listen to and respond to the body, guiding us on the ultimate path to self-care, recovery, and steadiness and equanimity of the mind.

    This class is held in a comfortable setting with a moderate temperature. We practice supporting the body with breath and optional props as we move through the postures. Vinyasa, Static posture, and supported postures have an equal part in this class, with an emphasis on meditation and listening to the body, then following the cues that it gives you.

  • Mindful Yama
  • This is a slow flow beginner yoga class.  Focus is on introducing pranayama techniques, mindful stretching and meditation.
     
    Expect to feel refreshed, calm and centered after this class, which takes a gentle approach to practicing yoga.  In this class we emphasize cultivating mindfulness as we integrate postures, body alignment, breath awareness, and meditation.  
     
    While this class is a wonderful class for beginners to learn and practice the basics, it is also a great for seasoned practitioners.  Exploring the internal nature of the yoga poses--how they feel, rather than how they look.

  • CHS Yoga

  • Fusion Flow ~ Heated
